Week 7

College Interviews and Admissions

I recently had an interview for Yale University. I wouldn’t make such a big deal out of it if it was any other year. Usually, Yale tries to interview as many students as possible. It used to be a standard part of their application. Now, however, due to low alumni interviewers and a high number of applicants, they are prioritizing interviews with certain students. The fact that I got one is interesting to me. They said an interview was necessary if the admissions committee needed more information about you. I’m not sure what information they wanted, but I hope I gave it to them. I just hope I didn’t talk too much, and if you’ve listened to any of my podcast episodes, you know I can talk.

Fallacies

I like how life works out in unexpected, but good ways. I went through a whole ordeal of trying to get someone’s attention, and it didn’t work out, but now we’re friends. So, I guess it did. I am happy that I went through the hassle of liking someone, because I really enjoy their presence in my life. Plus, at the end of the day, I just want him to be happy, and if he’s happy, I’m happy. So, while I was upset about the situation, now I feel good about it. I just wish the universe could have let me know the outcome beforehand, instead of after the situation ended. I truly think that everything happens for a reason.

Demon Slayer

There’s a time in all anime (about fighting) where the characters realize how weak they are. The main character is already gifted, or they have a lot of potential, and we get to see them grow. That’s where Demon Slayer is right now, it’s in that stage. I have a lot to say about this show, the subconscious minds of the characters, the characters themselves, and the magic system, but I’ll keep it short. I like that I am watching a relatively new anime that is currently releasing episodes. I watch currently-airing cartoons all the time, but with anime specifically, I usually watch ones that have ended. I am excited to be a part of the fandom and speculate about future events with everyone else. Everyone who hasn’t read the manga, at least.
